We've already seen the new take on Hereford Base and now we can also finally delve into details on Clash and Maverick - the new specialists joining the Rainbow roster. Grim Sky is the year 3, season 3 expansion for Rainbow Six Siege where the game will get two new operators (one attacker and one defender) along with the game's first ever complete map rework.
Esports aside, the tournament will also be host to the full reveal of Operation Grim Sky. I'm actually quite happy about that the way Clash works sort of forcing a bit of more tactical approach to the game instead of the usual Siege-Rambo mentality that was encouraged so far where brainless rushing and peeker's advantage shots are accepted part of the game for some reason. It's been a busy week for Ubisoft and the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege community. From daily updates on Ubisoft's blog about the continuously growing game to the the first ever Six Major in Paris. You already know that you can't catch up while slowed down so what you'll need to do is retreat and flank or occupy Clash while someone flanking, and/or use explosives.
If I get killed by a guy finding an angle at me or from behind or by explosive or gas or a trap, I'll give props for it because the opposition used brains to defeat me and thats the way it should be done in a tactical game.Īs I said before, just applying tactical solutions can counter this. Much like in the case of Mont, and/or other shield operators the best thing is not to get bogged down with a frontal assault - again returning to Rainbow Six roots, applying the solution to when you encounter a probelmatic opposition-> Flank.Īs a Mont main myself the only time I get annoyed by being killed if someone kills me using network exploit/melee. Peeking from behind a window frame isn't different from doing it from behind a shield operator, so I'd suspect if this would indeed happen it'll only require a more careful approach from attackers. I guess I can see that happening, but then again I've encountered plenty of rambo defenders even without Clash that simply rushed out and tackled the spawn point of the attackers to kill everyone, or went to a high enough point to shoot up the attackers as soon as he got a line of sight from a window. But the combination of all these viable tactics and abilities makes her OP in my book. I don’t say that can have none of these things. And the taser battery is quite large so she can do it for quite some time. That makes melee not an option while tased. If you’re tased you can’t do much about it, because she can walk faster backwards than you can move forwards while tased. Her taser has a huge slow attached to it, has an incredible range, and goes through attacker shields.
(I’m having some minor Pulse flashbacks). So if you just look away from her for just a moment she’ll spray you into oblivion with her SMG (or pistol if that is your thing). She can switch incredibly fast to her secondary. Also as a defender she can block an entire window from the attackers to enter or shoot through.
Since the devs say they want to have the majority of combat inside, this does’t stimulate the intended playstyle of the game. Which makes it better as a mobile cover than the attacker shields, and makes going outside to intercept attackers with a fragger a viable tactic. The shield covers as much, maybe even more than montagne’s shield.
